An atypical musical form: viola, drums and vocals augmented by electronic effects, this rock-energy trio pays tribute to committed African-American and Anglophone women poets: Rita Dove, Gwendolyn Brooks, Charlotte Perkins Pilman, Charlotte Mew…
The band revisits these poems in the form of electric protest songs, creating an imaginary, dreamlike, hallucinatory folklore. Their music flies from a possible protest song to free jazz, from a song to a trance-like frenzy.

Three Days of Forest’s first creation -The mute riot of leaves- around poems by Rita Dove and Gwendolyn Brooks (Jazzmigration Laureate 2018-2019) was a resounding success. The atypical musical form took root, developing both the powerful side, the relationship to text, to song, while retaining a written-improvised structure. Free-jazz, spoken word, libertarian élan and the folk air cohabit to form a new identity.
For this new album, the artistic approach remains the same, to continue discovering and exploring the poetry of committed English-speaking authors: Charlotte Perkins Gilman, Charlotte Mew, Rita Dove, Gwendolyn Brooks, Edna St. Vincent Millay… Poetry has always had an intimate relationship with music, where the word becomes sound material and the rhythm of the verses nourishes the musical composition.
Each poem opens the field to an imaginary, musical, sound and visual universe. The works chosen are linked by a libertarian spirit and their questioning of the relationship between human beings and the living. At times, it’s an ecofeminism that hasn’t yet said its name.
